Wow time sure does fly by. When Tricia messaged me on facebook that she wanted me to do her daughters senior portraits I was so excited. Tricia and I are old friends and we haven't seen each other for over 4 years. I couldn't believe that her little Jackie was all grown up and ready to graduate from high school. Tricia told me that Jackie was laid back and casual and they would leave the location for the shoot up to me. Well, I found the perfect location in Fallbrook for Jackie's shoot. It was a climbing eventure but we all had fun. I almost cried when I saw Tricia. It was so good to see my old friend again. I have to say another WOW because that is what I thought when I saw Jackie. This girl is gorgeous!! I regular California girl and super sweet and funny. It was a joy to photograph you Jackie and I wish you well in your new life adventure.

OK so I had to add a couple of pictures of Jackie with her wonderful mom Tricia and also one or two fo Tricia and I, hahah Love this lady.

Sorry this is so picture heavy but I just had so much fun and just think this girl is stunning so I have to post a couple more :-)

I have had the best time watching this cutie grow. The time is flying by. Every time we go out on a shoot with Baby J I have the best time. Not only is she a joy but her mom & dad are the sweetiest couple and always willing to help. Hope you enjoy the video. I will be posting the pictures later.

WOW is all I can say about Haley. This girl is as beautiful on the outside as she is in the inside. We went all out for Haley's senior session with Hair & Makeup from Heidi Garrett of Hair & Makeup Girl and three outfit changes. Haley is into fashion as you will see as you scroll through the photos.

Haley is taking acting classes and has done some modeling and loves fashion. I asked her who her favorite designers were; Alexander Mcqueen and Georgio Armani and her favorite stores; Guess, BB, H&M and Foriegn Exchange to name a few.

I asked Haley what she was going to do after high school and she told me she is going to go to college and major in business. I have no doubht that Haley will do great in whatever she sets her mind to.

I wanted Haley's senior session to reflect her high fashion so we looked for something more urban and was directed to the burnt down school house in Murrieta. It turned out to be the perfect spot.

Haley ~ you are beautiful and I wish you well in your future adventures. May God bless your journey!

New Beginnings - Clickinmoms project

OK I'm always behind. I wanted to have this up yesterday. It's a new year and I have lots of new projects. I almost decided not to do this one but I love my friends over at clickinmoms and I would regret it. So here is my first project, titled "New Beginnings" We have so many new beginnings happening right now. A week before Christmas our sweet dog gave birth to 6 puppies. They are so cute. Also our church moved into our very own building Sandals Church . Last but not least our sweet Aubri started Preschool. I decided to showcase Aubri's first day of school. She love, love, loves her new school and all her new friends.

I absolutely love Senior, did I tell you I love seniors? haha I really enjoy photographing Seniors. For one they are fun, two they almost always want to take photos and look good in them, three they are fun, oh did I say that already. OK this Senior is special to me. I have know Delanie all her life. She is my Goddaughter and daughter of my heart. Delanie is a photographer and artist. She has madd skills in both areas. God has truly blessed her with many talents. We had so much fun and plan on going out again sometime soon to take some cool pictures with her paints (which she left at school over Christmas break), haha it's ok it gives us a reason to go out and shoot again. Like we need a reason, We started out at Glen Arbor Park and then headed to Old Town Temecula to finish off the shoot. Sorry but I couldn't narrow down the pics on this one so this post is picture heavy. Hope you enjoy.

2011 Christmas at our house!

I am truly blessed with the best family. We have great children. This year was a happy year in the Hopkins family. Even with all the stress and financial issues God truly blessed us with a wonderful family filled Christmas. The only thing that could have made it better was if all my family were together. I miss my family in Florida very very much. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. Let's pray that 2012 brings many blessings to everyone.

I feel like I say the same thing everytime I post one of my family sessions but it's true. I had fun photographing the McIntosh family. Christi (mom) has a beautiful voice and blesses our church by singing in the worship band on Sundays. Kevin (dad) does the media stuff at our church. They have fun and energetic twin boys Nolan & Eli. We had to reschedule their family shoot because of rain so we had to do it the next day at noon. A photographers nightmare, harsh lighting lots of shadows but I feel they came out great. Tell me what you think?

Tuesday I had the great opportunity to go to Elizabeth Luna's workshop in Riverside, CA. It was a great time of learning and networking with other great photographers Stephany, Sheila, Derrick, Cherisse, Summer and our makeup artist Yesenia. At the end of the day Elizabeth took us to downtown Riverside for a photography shoot out with two wonderful models Stephanie and Josue. Below are some of my favorite pictures from the shootout.

Duane, Trisha and little C go to my church Sandals Church . I got to meet Duane's beautiful mother Dinah a couple of weeks ago and she was telling me they have never had family photos done :-( sad face. This beautiful mother of 3 grown boys needs some beautiful pictures of her family and I was the lady to do it. She said that all her sons would be together in the first weekend in September so we booked the date to do family photos. These peeps are beautiful, take a look below:

I was so excited to photograph this sweet baby girl. I had the pleasure of doing her mommy's maternity photos. I love this family and this sweet baby. It was so much fun and she was such a sweet happy baby. I don't usually do morning sessions because I'm not the earliest riser, haha but we decided to meet at 9:00am. When I got up it was pretty dark and gloomy so I was a little nervous but it all turned out great. The lighting was great, the weather was great, the baby was happy and I was one happy photographer, haha. So tell me is little baby J the cutiest baby you've seen?

Had a great day in Old Town Temecula with my Goddaughter Delanie. Delanie is a senior this year so we decided to do some senior pictures early. She just dyed her hair red and it looks beautiful on her but we will do more senior portraits later in the year so we can capture images of her in her natural hair color. The lighting was so nice today I just had to make my son pose for a picture. When I pulled this into photoshop I just sat there staring at it. My son is growing up. He's now 9 years old and going into 4th grade. Time just goes by so fast. I'm so grateful for my photography and that I have the opportunity to capture these photos and freeze this time in his life so someday I can look back and remember. The second one is our little Aubri and our very dirty slider. Then my son decided to clean it for me :-)

I took my Goddaughter Delanie on a photo shootout. She is a wonderful artist and has now really gotten into photography. We took my two little ones down to the beach to practice on some sunset and silheoutte pictures. Here are two of my favorite picturs from that day. On the 3rd of July we spent the day at the park across the street from Pechanga Resort & Casino because they do fire works and we wanted to go to the Pow Wow. I didn't take my camera out as much as I wanted to but the kids got glow swords and they were having so much fun. I caputed this picture and I just loved it. I know it's not technically correct but I still like it.

Sorry I am so behind. So much has been going on and I have been really bad keeping my blog updated. Between now and the time I did my last post I have had two senior session and a Cali meet up with some wonderful fellow photogs. Rebecca Mitchell was kind enough to organize the event and she even brought along a beautiful family for us to photograph. Below you will find pictures of my senior sessions and the Cal meet up along with some pictures of my son and great~neice that has come to live with us. They are so cute together I just can't resist taking pics of them. Please feel free to comment. I love your input. Summer is almost here and I for one am looking forward to the longer day light hours and time at the beach plus beach pictures are the best!

Mother's Day is one of my favorite holidays. Not because of gifts or anything but because I get to spend quality time with my busy family. My boys decorated me a cake and a flower vase each. It was so thoughtful. I am truly blessed.

This is a sweet couple that I took senior pictures and couples pictures for over spring break. They are both so beautiful it was a joy to photography them. Hope to do it again soon. Michael is an excellent student and I'm sure will do great in college. I don't know much about Amanda but she was super sweet and easy to photograph.

On April 6th my husband and I took my great niece into our home to care for her for however long it takes for her parents to get their lives together. As you can see she is a little doll baby. We love her already and she is fitting into the family really well. Her name is Aubri and she is 2 1/2 years old. I am praying she will like being my new model, haha. God bless.

This weekend I am going to my first photography workshop and I am so excited. It's at Wilson Creek Winery. I have never been there so I thought I would take a drive by. My two son's Tyler and Shane and my hubby are all part of ATA karate here in Temecula at the mall. This is a picture of Shane testing for his new Blue Belt and there is my hubby the judge with the mean look, haha. So proud of them all.

I couldn't pick one this week. On Thursday it was such a beautiful day out I had to take my camera with me on my lunch hour. I looked around for something to photograph when I saw this heart shaped stone. It was a God kiss, I think! Then over the weekend my youngest son went with me to scope out some photo locations for my up coming senior shoot and I just had to take a picture of him. It was screaming old fashion black & white. Took my family to the Oceanside Harbor to watch the sun set. My son and my nephew were walking on the rocks and I couldn't resist. I told them I wanted to take a picture of them but they had to go way out there and wait until the lighting was right. LOL what I really meant is to wait until a big wave came to they would get soaked, haha. I know, I know I am a mean auntie and mommy. :-)

52 week project. I just joined this new website http://www.clickinmoms.com/ after reading my friend Marisa's blog. Some of the ladies on clickin Moms are doing a 52 week challenge. What you do is upload a picture a week to either your blog, website or facebook page. It's going to be fun and it's a way to make sure you use your camera on a weekly basis. Here is my first picture for week one. Hope you like it.
